SUBGRADE CLAY STABILISER

Stops Reactive Clay Moving Under Concrete

Australian Made Technology

Built for real-world reactive clay conditions beneath slabs, pavements and hardstands.

Reactive sodic clay is the problem beneath the build

When clay takes on water, it can sludge, swell and lose stability.

When it dries, it can shrink, harden and pull apart.

That cycle creates movement below concrete and leads to:

  • water sitting where it should not
  • soft, unstable ground under the pour
  • heave and lift
  • bowing and slab stress
  • cracking pressure from below
  • shrinkage and separation
  • inconsistent subgrade performance

A long-lasting solution for reactive clay

SUBGRADE CLAY STABILISER is a long-lasting treatment designed to stabilise reactive clay subgrades before construction.

It works by controlling how water interacts with the clay, helping the ground behave more consistently through wet and dry conditions.

It stabilises the soil without softening it.

It maintains strength without compromising integrity.

It replaces the need for bulk gypsum loading.

What it does

  • stabilises wet and dry clay behaviour
  • reduces sludging, swelling and moisture-driven movement
  • helps limit shrink-back, cracking and separation
  • improves water entry and movement through the subgrade
  • creates a more consistent and reliable base for construction
  • maintains structural integrity in the clay profile

Built for conditions under concrete

Reactive clay does not fail all at once. It moves over time.

Moisture changes drive that movement, creating pressure, lift and instability beneath slabs, pavements and hardstands.

SUBGRADE CLAY STABILISER helps stop that cycle from controlling the ground.

The result is a more stable subgrade, reduced risk of heave and bowing, and improved performance beneath the build.

Replaces gypsum

Designed as a complete replacement for gypsum-based clay treatment programs.

No repeated loading.

No short-term correction.

A cleaner, more controlled, long-lasting approach to stabilising reactive clay.

The outcome

Stops clay sludging when wet.

Stops clay shrinking and pulling apart when dry.

Reduces movement through moisture cycles.

Maintains strength in the subgrade.

More consistent ground.

More reliable builds.

Address the ground beneath the build.

Reactive clay can soften and swell when wet, then shrink and pull apart as it dries. Those moisture cycles can contribute to inconsistent support, movement, heave, separation and pressure beneath constructed surfaces.

The product is intended to modify water–clay interaction, reduce sludging and moisture-driven movement, and support a more consistent subgrade.

A construction decision—not a garden calculator decision.

Suitability, dose, treatment depth and placement must follow the project soil assessment and approved specification. The product does not replace geotechnical design, drainage, compaction control or structural engineering.

The published positioning presents liquid treatment as an alternative to bulk gypsum programs. Do not substitute it into an engineered specification without project approval.

Plan before the pour.

Share the soil report, intended structure, construction stage and treatment area with the project team. Confirm application before concrete or paving conceals the subgrade.
